affanbajwa18@gmail.comFrequently asked questions
Is Threshyr Pro really free?
Where is my data stored?
Do I need an account?
Does it work offline?
Can I use this for client work under an NDA?
How do I set a billable rate?
Open Projects, select a project, and set Billing Type and the rate beneath it — Hourly Rate ($), Monthly rate ($), or Total Budget ($), depending on the type you pick. Reports totals it for you.
The billing fields stay greyed out until the project has a client assigned. If you cannot type a rate, assign a client to the project first — use + Add Client on the Projects screen if you have not created one yet.
How do I run a report?
How do I add time I forgot to track?
Can I move my data to another Mac?
Yes — copy one file. Every project, client, rate and hour you have recorded lives in threshyr.db at this path:
~/Library/Containers/com.affanbajwa.threshyr.pro/Data/Library/Application Support/Threshyr-Pro/
- Quit Threshyr Pro on both Macs. Quitting finishes writing the database, so the copy you take is complete.
- In Finder on the old Mac, press ⌘ ⇧ G, paste the path above, and press Return.
- Copy threshyr.db to a USB drive or cloud folder.
- On the new Mac, install Threshyr Pro, open it once, then quit it — that creates the folder.
- Go to the same path on the new Mac and paste threshyr.db in, replacing the file already there.
- Open Threshyr Pro. Your projects, clients, rates and time are back.
Does Threshyr Pro track my screen or my apps automatically?
Troubleshooting
The app won't open after install
- Quit it completely — right-click its Dock or taskbar icon and choose Quit — then open it again.
- Restart your computer and try once more.
- If it still will not open, reinstall it from the same store you installed it from. On macOS, copy your threshyr.db file out first (path above) — deleting the app also deletes its data folder.
- Still stuck? Email us with your operating system version and what you see on screen.
The timer didn't save a session
- A time slot opens the moment you press play and closes when you press pause. If the app closed while a timer was still running, that slot is still open — it comes back running when you reopen the app. Press pause on that card to close it.
- Then correct the length in Timesheet with Edit, or delete the slot and re-enter it with + Add Manual Time.
Report totals look wrong
Check these four things, in order:
- The date range. Reports only counts time inside the range you picked. Hours logged outside it are not missing, just out of view — switch the range and they reappear.
- The project filter. Only the projects you have selected are included in the totals.
- The rate. A project with no rate set counts as zero, so its hours show but its amount does not. Remember the rate field only unlocks once the project has a client.
- The billing type. Only Hourly projects multiply hours by a rate. Fixed monthly and Fixed one-time projects report their flat budget, so their amount will not change as you log more hours. That is expected.
